With 80 degree weather during the winter, and sunny skies pretty much year round, one thing a true Californian never experiences is the mystical change of seasons. Therefore, it is important to have my girls value the small changes we do have, and embrace the beauty of the place we call home!

Leaves, Leaves, and more Leaves
We don't see falling leaves here much California. In fact, it is rather rare. After all, we are the state known for tall and fancy Palms (which we unfortunately have in front of our own home). So, when leaves are spotted and there are thousands of them, we must stop and play.

Keeping Up
Presley has grown incredibly fast. And, even though I have spent almost
every waking moment with her for the past year and change, I cannot seem to
remember every movement, every noise, every little developmental milestone of hers.
I just haven't been able to keep up with her growth, or Giulietta's for that matter!
Therefore, I am making a huge commitment to my girls and myself to blog everyday of 2012.
Most days pictures will be attached showing off the girls beauty, while other days
simple one to two liners filled with the funny happenings of the day or the crazy
things that G says will simply be stated.
No matter how busy life gets, or how tired I feel at the end of the night,
I promise that on this next New Year's Eve,
I will be able to look back and see 365 posts.
I will be able to look back and remember each day of 2012
And, most importantly I will be able to look back and never forget the
innocence, uniqueness, and growing spirit of my girls during 2012.
Speaking about growth and milestones...Presley is pretty much
walking independently now. She definitely does her fair share of
super crawling and riding on my hip (I think this is more of my way of
trying to keep her a baby longer), but each day her steps turn into
longer and more confident strides. And, I can't wait to see the day that
she is chasing her sister down the sidewalk.

Big Waves
Today we ventured out to Seal Beach with Nana, like so many other locals, in order to check out the so called "Big Waves." The sky was bluer then ever, the temperature was perfectly 70ish, the waves were larger then usual, and the girls eyes were filled with wonder and excitement as they curiously watched each wave break on shore.

Our beautiful afternoon continued with a little play time at the beach park. Presley enjoyed climbing, walking, and shoving copious amount of sand in her mouth. Giulietta on the other hand, road a seal, made a sand angel, creeped up on the seagulls, and hid her play rings in the sand for someone else to find.

All in all, the few hours we spent out in the warm California winter sun today were wonderful. Especially watching my two girls pretend to build a sand castle together. Thanks Nana for your suggestion to visit the "Big Waves" and for joining us in the fun!

Putting Away The Lights
This holiday season flew by way too fast. I had so many hopes of
doing more festive crafts, baking more delicious treats, and taking
more pictures of the girls. But, life happened like usual, and we
enjoyed many, many, many other fun holiday activities.
When taking down the tree and packing away all the ornaments and
lights, I decided to take one last stab at re-inventing the holiday magic.
Maybe it's the fact that Presley no longer feels the magic of the holiday
season, or that she is constantly moving, but taking these sweet pictures
of her did not turn out exactly how I had wanted. She wouldn't
sit still and most turned out blurry, but they are still ridiculously cute!
Now the lights are safely packed away, the New Year has started,
and we are ready for the next 10 or so months to fly by so we can do
it all over again.
